Paperwork and More Paperwork

Today Christina and I stopped into the UCP office to fill out paperwork. UCP is going to be the fiscal agent for Christina. Fancy words to say they’re going to be writing the paycheck.

I thought it was worth posting as we have been filling out a lot of paperwork over the last few months and, everybody knows how much fun paperwork can be. Christina was super excited to go to the UCP office. That lasted about 15 minutes and then the smile faded as Dad filled out forms. We were there quite a while and Christina was very patient. As her dad, I have to say I’m very proud of her. I tried to make a comment here and there to her, but of course I was mostly focusing to make sure I was filling everything out right.

Part of the fun that made this paperwork interesting, was that I had to fill out paperwork for Christina being the employer and me being the employee. And to make things a little more confusing, anywhere Christina would sign I would sign my name because I am also the guardian. I think I’ll be reading today’s date for a few months.

Employer, client, member, employee, provider, agent are some of the terms that I had to keep straight. There was the option that all of the paperwork could have been emailed to us and I could have filled it all out at home. I did consider that, however when asking Christina, she was quite adamant about wanting to go to the office. I am very glad we did. UCP staff, always friendly, was very helpful. I got questions answered and guidance to figure out which name had to go. Where and which boxes would be best checked for what we were doing? A big shout out to the crew at UCP- WCW.
