Ring Ring

As Christina and I take care of the usual chores and activities it is crazy how many more phone calls we have had. We are still working on getting supplies figured out since Christina turned 18.

To add to the head scratching, there was a call from Social Security about Christina’s CVI (Cortical Vision Impairment). There are laws regarding the paperwork that covers this diagnosis. And, there is another questionnaire to fill out that is asking about Christina’s (dis)abilities. I learned that we may be able to take care of the meeting by phone due to Christina already existing diagnosis. The uncomplicated description, Christina can’t be tested with the standard test.

To make sense of the Social Security call, the case worker was very helpful listing the steps we have completed so far and what to expect as more steps are completed. Local office did a review, second worker did a follow-up, regional office is currently working on the review. Next the review will be sent to the local office and they will reach out to tell us more stuff and about the decision if they will continue to consider Christina disabled.

Our last in-person meeting was 3 1/2 hours. This meeting was with the case worker and nurse with the care management company. Christina was not thrilled. Although it is all about her, she does not care for the boring conversation.

Did I mention how much Christina likes to help with the calls for about 5 minutes and then thinks we should be done.

I sure hope all goes in her favor. I can’t imagine that they would consider her not disabled. I know it is a lot of work and I commend for all his work that he does. Christina I just want to let you know I love you very much Grandma Patti.
